New technologies for Rukka
Rukka is well known to quickly deploy the latest technologies to enhance its products. Four of the latest 2010 models now use a new type of fastener called 'Lockout Closure', while two suits feature the newly developed 'Gore-Tex SuperFabric'.

Zip fasteners are supposed to stay closed reliably in the event of a fall and keep working smoothly even after many years without snagging, while at the same time looking good and not appear too bulky. They also need to be elaborately covered in order to keep out rain and splash - exacting specifications that only a small number of zippers manage to meet in the long run. In several of the latest Rukka models, the new 'Lockout Closure' by Gore takes on these tasks. The wear-free, toothless system is made of two double channelled polymer rails joined together using a metal slider to close it. Annoyances like snagging, stiff operation and leaks are a thing of the past once and for all. 100% waterproof without any bulky cover flies, 'Lockout Closure' also has appealing looks. | |

Another brand new technology is used in the 'crash' zones (elbows, shoulders and knees) as well as the nape of the neck on selected new Rukka suits. 'Gore-Tex SuperFabric', also by Gore, is a high-tech laminate composed of nylon, ceramic and epoxy, combined with a Gore Tex Pro Shell membrane. With its honeycomb surface structure, the new material has ten times the resistance against abrasion, cuts and penetration of regular nylon. At the same time, minute gaps between the individual honeycombs ensure maximum breathability and flexibility for perfect wearing comfort. SuperFabric for Rukka riding suits is supplied in a bespoke design made exclusively for Rukka.
